Venue details were read on the organisers' own sites in October 2026. Addresses, floors and schedules change, so confirm with the organiser before you book or travel.
Which operator runs which centre
This page draws on the venue pages of three operators: Eiken (the Eiken Foundation of Japan), a second operator, and JSAF (Japan Study Abroad Foundation). Eiken's venue pages list the Tokyo Test Centres in front of Tokyo Station and in front of Kojimachi Station, and the Yokohama Test Centre. Eiken's own pages say the Tokyo Test Centre (Ichigaya) is run by Eiken's IELTS sub-centre rather than by Eiken itself; this page calls that company the second operator. JSAF's venue pages name two Tokyo venues of its own, Takadanobaba and Higashi-Shinjuku. Operators can add and change centres, so read the table as what their pages showed in October 2026, not as a complete list.
| Centre (the operator's name, translated; for JSAF, its booking label) | Operator | Address and floor | Walk from the station |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tokyo Test Centre (in front of Tokyo Station) | Eiken | 2-1-1 Yaesu, Chuo-ku, Tokyo; YANMAR TOKYO building, 3F | Directly connected to the Yaesu exit of JR Tokyo Station, about 2 minutes on foot |
| Tokyo Test Centre (in front of Kojimachi Station) | Eiken | 3-12 Kioicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Kioicho Building, 18F | About 2 minutes on foot from Kojimachi station, Tokyo Metro Yurakucho line |
| Tokyo Test Centre (Ichigaya) | A second operator (Eiken's IELTS sub-centre) | 4-2-11 Kudankita, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; the building printed as 第2星光ビル, 8F | From Ichigaya station: 3 minutes on foot from the JR station, 2 minutes from the Tokyo Metro and Toei subway stations |
| Tokyo-Takadanobaba | JSAF | 1-4-15 Takadanobaba, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; the building printed as 大樹生命高田馬場ビル, floors listed as 1F and 3F | See JSAF's page |
| Tokyo-Higashi Shinjuku | JSAF | 6-29-6 Shinjuku, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; ELTZ6 building (エルツ6), 6F | See JSAF's page |
| Yokohama Test Centre | Eiken | 1-6-1 Kitasaiwai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa; Yokohama First Building, 15F | Connected underground to the West Exit of Yokohama Station, about 1 minute on foot |
Two of Eiken's centres share the name Tokyo Test Centre and differ only in the bracket, so check the bracketed part against your booking confirmation. Walking times are the operators' own estimates. For JSAF's directions from the stations, open its pages for Takadanobaba and Higashi-Shinjuku.

Eiken's Tokyo centres: Tokyo Station and Kojimachi
Tokyo Test Centre (in front of Tokyo Station)
Eiken says this centre is directly connected to the Yaesu exit of JR Tokyo Station, about 2 minutes on foot. It also says the centre tests almost every day, apart from some dates. That is Eiken's description of its schedule, not a promise that a date is open to you, and this page quotes no test dates: check Eiken's venue page and its booking pages for the dates open to you.
Tokyo Test Centre (in front of Kojimachi Station)
Eiken puts this centre about 2 minutes on foot from Kojimachi station on the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho line, and describes its schedule as centred on weekends. It is a new centre as Eiken describes it: Eiken's notice of 8 October 2026 says that, to widen the chances to take the test, it is opening computer-delivered IELTS test centres in Sendai and Tokyo (Kojimachi). For application and test dates, check Eiken's Kojimachi page and its notices.
The Ichigaya centre: run by a second operator
Eiken's page on its test-taking situation says the Ichigaya and Nagoya test centres are run by Eiken's IELTS sub-centre operator rather than by Eiken itself. This page calls that company the second operator. Check which operator you booked with; if it is not the one you expected, compare it with the table above before you set off. Eiken's venue index lists the Ichigaya centre and links to the second operator's own site.
The second operator's access page gives the Ichigaya address in the table. From Ichigaya station it gives 3 minutes on foot from the JR station and 2 minutes from the Tokyo Metro and Toei subway stations. It also lists business hours of 9:00 to 18:00, excluding public holidays and the year-end and New Year period. Those are the centre's business hours, not test hours: your test start time is in your booking confirmation.
JSAF's two Tokyo venues
JSAF warns candidates to choose the right one of its two Tokyo venues, Takadanobaba or Higashi-Shinjuku, when booking, and its booking pages label them Tokyo-Takadanobaba and Tokyo-Higashi Shinjuku. Both are in Shinjuku-ku but at different addresses, so check the venue name on your booking before you travel.
Tokyo-Takadanobaba
JSAF prints the address with the building 大樹生命高田馬場ビル and the floors as 1F and 3F, so check JSAF's page for the floor of the test room. JSAF says the room takes up to 22 candidates.
Tokyo-Higashi Shinjuku
JSAF's page gives the ELTZ6 building (エルツ6), 6F. Check JSAF's page for this venue for directions and current details before you book.
Yokohama Test Centre
Eiken's Yokohama Test Centre is connected underground to the West Exit of Yokohama Station, about 1 minute on foot. Eiken describes its schedule as centred on weekends, and says Speaking is held face to face, with staff supporting candidates on the day. Eiken announced its new Yokohama and Fukuoka computer-delivered test centres in a notice of 17 April 2026. British Council Japan's test-dates page lists the same Yokohama address among Eiken's centres. For anything beyond this, check Eiken's Yokohama page.
Before you travel
- Use the name on your confirmation. Match the operator and the venue name to the table, including the bracketed part of Eiken's two Tokyo names and JSAF's choice between Tokyo-Takadanobaba and Tokyo-Higashi Shinjuku.
- Business hours are not test hours. The Ichigaya hours above are when the office is open; the test start time is in your confirmation.
- Check the floor as well as the building. The floors given are 3F, 18F, 8F, 6F and 15F, and JSAF lists 1F and 3F for Takadanobaba.
- Allow extra time. The walking times are the operators' own estimates, not a measured route for your day.
- Do not rely on an older list. Eiken describes Kojimachi as a new centre and announced Yokohama as new in April 2026, so an older map, post or list may leave them out.
Where this page stops
This page is a reference for addresses and station access. The Tokyo tutor page compares the organisers' lists source by source and covers One Skill Retake and Speaking, the page on IELTS test centres in Japan maps the centres in other cities, and booking IELTS on computer in Japan and passport and ID for IELTS in Japan cover booking, test day and identity documents. For the format itself, see computer-delivered IELTS in Japan; for choosing between a retake and a full resit, see One Skill Retake or a full retake.
Fees and dates: check the operators
Band Booster does not set the exam fee or the test dates, and both can change, so this page quotes no exam fee or test date. Check Eiken's IELTS site, JSAF's computer-delivered page or British Council Japan's dates, fees and locations page; for Ichigaya, start from the second operator's own site, which Eiken's venue index links to. Lesson prices are separate: the booking page shows yours before you pay.
Where Band Booster fits
Band Booster IELTS is a private tutor, independent of the test operators. It is not a test centre: it does not register candidates, set exam fees, run venues or issue results. Mike, a Cambridge CELTA-certified teacher in Hanoi who scored 8.5 in IELTS Speaking (About Mike), teaches one-to-one over Google Meet, in English only, with no classroom in Japan. The booking page shows your price in your own currency before you pay, and a paid 30-minute trial can be taken once, on your first booking. No band score is promised. The Japan page and the Speaking tutor page for Japan say more about the lessons.
