The venue facts on this page were read in October 2026 on ielts.org and on a page of the organisation that runs the centre, which this page calls the operator. Pages change, so confirm everything there before you plan. Band Booster IELTS is a private online tutor: it is not a test centre, it is not affiliated with the centre, its operator, IELTS USA or ielts.org, and it does not register anyone for the test.
The centre ielts.org files under Nashville has a Murfreesboro address
ielts.org's test centre finder lists a centre under Nashville, and its listing page prints the address as 820 Fairview Avenue, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130. So the label says Nashville while the printed address names Murfreesboro instead. A reader who assumes the venue is inside Nashville itself would be planning around the wrong place, so plan from the printed address. This page gives no distance or travel time between Nashville and Murfreesboro: check a map for your own route.
The operator's page for the centre says it is in a building on a university campus in Murfreesboro. The table separates what ielts.org prints from what the operator says.
| Detail | What the page says (read October 2026) | Whose page |
|---|---|---|
| City label in the finder | Nashville | ielts.org |
| Address as printed | 820 Fairview Avenue, Murfreesboro, Tennessee 37130 | ielts.org |
| Tests listed | Academic and General Training, on computer only | ielts.org |
| Setting | In a building on a university campus in Murfreesboro | The operator |
Computer only: what the listing shows
ielts.org's page for this listing shows two tests, Academic and General Training, and for both it shows computer only. It does not list a computer with Writing on Paper option for this centre. Which of the two tests you need is decided by the organisation that asks for your result, and requirements change, so check its own page; Academic or General Training explains how they differ. This page states no score or test-type requirement for any institution, and Band Booster IELTS gives no visa or immigration advice.
This page cannot say whether the centre offers anything beyond what the listing shows, for example another version of the test or One Skill Retake. A listing that does not show an option does not prove it is unavailable, so ask the centre before you rely on it. For what changes on a computer-delivered test, including how Speaking is held and when results arrive, see computer-delivered IELTS in the United States.
Test day at the Murfreesboro centre: what the operator says
Arrival and the Speaking day
The operator's page advises test takers to arrive at the centre no later than 30 minutes before their test. That is the operator's advice for this centre, not a rule for every US centre, and your booking confirmation gives the times that apply to you. ID rules are covered on IELTS test day in the US.
The same page says Speaking tests are scheduled separately, either on the same day or on the day before or after your main test. So Speaking may not fall on the day you sit the written sections. Read the Speaking date and time on your booking confirmation rather than assuming they match, and if the days differ, plan your travel and your lessons around both. That last suggestion is this page's own.
Getting there: parking and the bus stop
The operator's page tells drivers to park in a campus lot to the left of the IELTS entrance, which it marks E4. It also says the centre is across the street from a bus stop on a Murfreesboro city bus route. Both lines are the operator's, as read in October 2026. This page does not say how that route connects with Nashville, and it gives no directions, distances or journey times. Campus arrangements can change, so read the operator's current page and your booking confirmation before you travel.
Check the centre named on your booking confirmation
However you reach the booking form, compare the centre named on your booking confirmation with the address above before you travel. The label Nashville appears in the finder, but the confirmation tells you which venue you are booked at. Band Booster does not book tests.
Tennessee's other listing is in Memphis
The other Tennessee listing in ielts.org's finder (read October 2026) is in Memphis, at 384 Patterson Street, Room 115, Memphis, Tennessee 38111, and its page also shows computer only. This page does not compare the two or give distances. For every US listing by state, with the address ielts.org prints for each, see IELTS test centres in the United States. If you are also looking at other cities, our pages for Minneapolis, Chicago and Houston are written for learners there.
Nashville and Hanoi: a 12 or 13 hour time difference
NIST lists the Central time zone at UTC-6 on standard time (CST) and UTC-5 on daylight time (CDT). Nashville is on Central time. The IANA time zone database lists Vietnam under the entry Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh, which ends on UTC+7 with no daylight saving.
So Hanoi is 13 hours ahead of Nashville while Nashville is on standard time and 12 hours ahead on daylight time. Hanoi stays on UTC+7 all year, while Central time moves between its standard and daylight offsets, so a lesson at a fixed Hanoi time moves by one hour on your Nashville clock when your clocks change. This page lists no clock-change dates. The table reads from your side: a Nashville time, then the matching Hanoi time.
| Nashville time | Hanoi, Nashville on daylight time (+12 hours) | Hanoi, Nashville on standard time (+13 hours) |
|---|---|---|
| 06:00 | 18:00, same day | 19:00, same day |
| 07:00 | 19:00, same day | 20:00, same day |
| 19:00 | 07:00, next day | 08:00, next day |
| 20:00 | 08:00, next day | 09:00, next day |
| 21:00 | 09:00, next day | 10:00, next day |
This is a conversion, not a list of open slots: Mike's calendar decides which times are open, and no particular hours are promised. The booking calendar shows real slots in your own time zone; check the time it shows for the date you pick, especially around a US clock change.
Online lessons with Mike for learners in Nashville
Mike is a CELTA-certified teacher based in Hanoi, Vietnam, and in his own IELTS test he scored 8.5 in Speaking. He teaches every session himself, one-to-one and live on Google Meet, in English; About Mike has more detail. Band Booster has no classroom, test centre or group class in Nashville or Murfreesboro: every lesson is online.
A regular lesson lasts 60 minutes, with feedback during the lesson rather than days later, and it can cover Listening, Reading, Writing (Task 1 and Task 2, marked against the public band descriptors) or Speaking (Parts 1, 2 and 3 in the real format). Sessions can be recorded on request, and written progress notes follow in your account. See IELTS Speaking coaching, the Speaking tutor page for the USA and IELTS Writing feedback.
The booking steps are on the page for learners in the USA. In short, the booking page shows your price in your own currency before you pay, there is no subscription or package, a paid 30-minute trial can be taken once per student on a first booking, and you can reschedule at no charge up to 12 hours before the slot. A cancellation inside 12 hours is not refunded. A class may suit you better if you want classmates or a fixed weekly timetable, because one-to-one lessons depend on which slots are open in Mike's calendar; how to choose an online IELTS tutor goes further.
Three results have been reported back to Mike, each anonymous: 6.0 to 7.5 overall, 5.5 to 7.0 in Writing and 6.5 to 8.0 in Speaking. No band is promised: progress depends on your starting point and the work you do between sessions.
What to practise before a computer-delivered test
The section lengths are the usual IELTS format. The last column is general teaching advice, not guidance from ielts.org or the centre.
| Section | Format | General practice advice |
|---|---|---|
| Listening | About 30 minutes, 40 questions, 4 parts; the recording is played once | Follow a recording once through without pausing |
| Reading | 60 minutes, 40 questions, 3 sections | Practise finishing all three sections inside the hour |
| Writing | 60 minutes: Task 1 at least 150 words (about 20 minutes), Task 2 at least 250 words (about 40 minutes); Task 2 counts twice as much | Because the listing shows computer only, practise typing both tasks in one timed sitting |
| Speaking | An interview of 11 to 14 minutes in three parts; Part 2 gives 1 minute to prepare and 1 to 2 minutes to speak | Answer aloud, to time, with a person listening |
The band score calculator shows how four skill scores average into an overall band, and the Speaking Part 2 timer helps you practise a long turn. This page quotes no exam fee and no test date; both can change, so check them with the centre.
