Online IELTS coaching for students in Pune
This is online IELTS coaching for Pune, one-to-one and not a class. Mike teaches you alone, live on Google Meet in English, from home in Pune or anywhere with a stable internet connection. There is no classroom, batch or group class in Pune. Band Booster IELTS is a private tutor, not the exam board or a test centre, so it does not register you for the test.
Mike is a CELTA-certified teacher based in Hanoi, with an IELTS result of 7.5 overall and 8.5 in Speaking. Results that students have reported back include 6.0 to 7.5 overall, 5.5 to 7.0 in Writing and 6.5 to 8.0 in Speaking. These are individual cases, not typical results, and no band is promised: progress depends on your starting point and the work you do between sessions. Pune time and Hanoi time
India has a single time zone, Asia/Kolkata at UTC+5:30, and Vietnam, Hanoi included, is at UTC+7. The IANA time zone database currently lists no daylight-saving rule for either, so Hanoi is 1 hour 30 minutes ahead of Pune all year. The booking calendar shows each slot in your own time.

This is a conversion, not a list of open slots. Open times follow Mike's calendar and no particular hours are promised, so if you can study only at fixed hours, check the calendar first.
IELTS test centres in Pune: what IDP India's pages show
IDP India's Pune page shows two address entries, headed "Pune" and "Shivaji Nagar". The address block of the first entry begins "IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd."; the address block of the second begins "IDP CD IELTS Test Centre". The overview text also places the IDP IELTS Pune office in the suburbs of Shivaji Nagar, so the wording does not split the two entries cleanly. This page gives no street addresses, because IDP's own pages differ slightly on the address of the first entry. Confirm with IDP which entry your booking uses.
IDP India's 2021 announcement says IDP would manage all IELTS testing in India and deliver all IELTS tests from 25 July 2021, so this page lists no British Council venues for Pune. That announcement is from 2021, so confirm the current position with IDP.

What to confirm with IDP when you book in Pune
- The format on your date. IDP India's IELTS on Computer page says IELTS on Paper has been discontinued, yet its Pune page still carries "IELTS on Paper Test Dates & Fee" sections for Academic and General Training that read "No Seats are Available". Its booking options include IELTS (Writing on Paper), which ielts.org describes as the computer test with Writing completed by hand. This page does not say whether paper is offered in Pune, so check the format shown for your date; see computer-delivered IELTS in India.
- IELTS for UKVI. IDP India's UKVI page says UK Visas and Immigration only accepts tests taken in person at an IELTS for UKVI test centre. Ask IDP which Pune entry applies.
- Speaking and IELTS Online. ielts.org says Speaking is 11 to 14 minutes in three parts; its ways to take IELTS page describes it at a test centre as a face-to-face session, while its Guide for Test Takers says face to face or via video call. IDP India's IELTS on Computer page describes a video call interview and its Writing on Paper page says face to face. ielts.org says IELTS Online is offered "in some countries". This page cannot say which Speaking arrangement applies in Pune or whether IELTS Online is offered in India, so ask IDP; the India page sets out the wording.
- One Skill Retake. IDP India says it is for IELTS on Computer Academic and General Training, and you check your eligibility in your candidate portal. IDP says to book within 60 days of your original test; ielts.org says you must book and take it within 60 days, so plan both inside that window. ielts.org also recommends checking directly with the organisation to see if it accepts IELTS One Skill Retake before you book your test. IELTS fees and dates: check IDP
The exam fee is charged by IDP, not by Band Booster. IDP India says its fees are the same across all its India test centres and lists them on its fee page. You choose a date while booking: IDP India's Pune page has an online registration section that asks you to select your preferred computer-delivered test date, and its general booking page lists the test options. Its test dates page says availability can vary by city and test centre. This page quotes no fee amount and no test date. IELTS classes in Pune: this is one-to-one online, not a class
IELTS classes in Pune can mean a class in a room. Here there is no centre in Pune and no batch or group class, and feedback comes during the lesson rather than days later. ielts.org's General Training page gives the same times for Reading, Writing and Speaking. For Listening it says approximately 30 minutes plus 10 minutes to transfer your answers to an answer sheet.
The next two points are general study advice, not guidance from IDP or ielts.org:
- Practise Writing the way your booking says you will sit it: typed on computer, or by hand if you choose Writing on Paper.
- Practise Speaking aloud with another person. ielts.org says Part 2 gives you one minute to prepare and that you should be able to keep talking for 2 minutes; the Speaking Part 2 timer helps you rehearse that.
Using ielts.org's preparation materials alongside lessons
ielts.org's preparation resources page lists sample tests, Writing test preparation videos, courses, apps, webinars, videos, books and articles, without saying which cost money. Its sample test questions page links to Academic and General Training sets and has a subheading describing its practice papers and resources as offered at no charge. IDP India's IELTS on Computer page links to practice tests and a familiarisation test for the computer format; check what each involves. Use sample material for timed practice on your own, and lessons for what you cannot check yourself: feedback on your Writing against the band descriptors, and on your Speaking while you speak.
Price and the paid trial
India is in the same regional price tier as Vietnam. The booking page shows your lesson price in your own currency before you pay, with payment options listed there. A regular lesson is 60 minutes, with no subscription or package, and a paid 30-minute trial can be taken once, on your first booking. You can move a lesson at no charge up to 12 hours before it starts; a cancellation inside 12 hours is not refunded.
