Read on the Academy's English and Arabic IELTS pages and on IDP Qatar's test-dates and results pages in October 2026. Venue rules and listings change, so check the pages before you plan around them. This page quotes no exam fee or test date.
Band Booster IELTS is a private online tutor, not a test centre. It is independent of the Academy, IDP and the British Council, and it does not register you for the test, hold a place, set exam fees or dates, or issue results. Those are matters for the venue and the provider you book with.
The venue, and what to call it when you book
IDP Qatar's test-centre finder lists the Qatar Aeronautical Academy at Ras Abu Aboud Street, Al Khulaifat, Qatar. The Academy's own IELTS page gives its address as Ras Abu Abboud EXPY, AlKhulaifat, Doha, Qatar. The two agree on the place and differ only in how the street name is written, so choosing Doha in the booking steps matches the Academy's own address.
The naming is where the pages differ. IDP's finder and the Academy's page text say Academy, but the Academy's booking steps tell you to select Qatar as the country, Doha as the location, and Qatar Aeronautical College as the test location. In practice, choose Qatar, then Doha, then the Academy's listing, and read the venue name and address on the session before you pay. The Academy's English page calls it an approved testing site for IELTS, and its Arabic page calls it an approved IELTS centre; those are the Academy's own descriptions, not a statement by Band Booster.
This page is about one venue. For the wider picture of IELTS venues in Doha, see the online IELTS tutor page for Doha. The UDST Testing Centre has its own guide: IELTS at the UDST Testing Centre in Doha.

Booking and paying
You can book online or register in person during the Academy's registration hours in the table. The Academy's Arabic page lists the same Sunday to Thursday hours in its registration section, but its payment paragraph prints 7:00 am as the opening time, so confirm the hours with the Academy before you go. The registration hours are separate from the test-day check-in times, so do not read one as the other.
For online payment, the Academy's page says to email the Academy to receive an invoice, after which you can pay online by credit card. It also says paying in person or by bank transfer is possible. Band Booster does not set or charge the exam fee. The Academy's page carries a fee table, and this page quotes no exam fee because fees change.
Test-day timing: from 7:45 to the 9:00 start
The Academy's page gives these times for the morning of the written test:
- 7:45 to 8:30. The check-in window.
- 8:30. Registration closes.
- 8:45. Anyone arriving after this is marked absent and cannot take the test. There are no transfers or refunds.
- 9:00. The test starts.
The page gives both 8:30 and 8:45, and this guide does not try to reconcile them. Its Arabic page gives the same times, including the 8:45 cut-off. As general advice, treat 8:30, the earlier time, as your deadline and plan to be checked in well before it. A late arrival costs the whole sitting, because the Academy says there are no transfers or refunds.
Which identification you must bring, and what you may take into the test room, are covered in what to bring to your IELTS test in Qatar. If you cannot attend on your date, the Academy's transfer rules are on changing or cancelling an IELTS booking in Qatar; this page does not repeat them.
The Speaking test: same day, a week before or two days after
The Academy's page says the Speaking test might be on the same day as the written test, or it might be 7 days before or 2 days after the written test. Its Arabic page gives the same timing. For Speaking, arrive 30 minutes before your Speaking time. The page adds that you will receive an email and an SMS with the date of your Speaking test in advance, and suggests contacting the test centre for further details about the Speaking time.
The Speaking test has three parts and lasts 11 to 14 minutes. Part 1 covers introductions and familiar topics, Part 2 is a long turn on a cue card after a minute to prepare, and Part 3 is a discussion of more abstract questions linked to Part 2. Two points of general advice, not Academy wording:
- Because Speaking can come as much as 7 days before the written test, be ready to speak first. Do not leave all of your Speaking practice for the days after Writing.
- Practise aloud and to time, with another person where you can. The Speaking Part 2 timer helps with the long turn, and IELTS Speaking coaching shows how a lesson works.
Results: what the Academy's page says, and how IDP's page compares
For computer-delivered IELTS, the Academy's page gives two figures. Where it explains how to get your results, it says 2 to 3 calendar days; in its computer-delivered test section, it says results are released within 2 to 5 days. IDP Qatar's results page says 1 to 5 days after your test. The figures do not match exactly. Treat all of them as typical timings rather than promises, and ask the Academy before you plan a deadline around your result.
On provisional results, the Academy's page says they are sent by SMS to candidates who tick the "receive results by SMS" box when they apply online, and that you can instead view your results online (the page gives the address results.ieltsessentials.com). It also says it cannot send an SMS to a non-Qatari mobile number. So if your mobile number is not Qatari, do not count on a text message, and ask the Academy how you will be told your result. The address on the Academy's page leads to an IDP results-checking page, which says results shown online are not official and are provisional only until you receive your official Test Report Form.
For more on online results, Test Report Form copies and remarks across Qatar, see IELTS results in Qatar.
Collecting your Test Report Form
The Academy's page says your results are issued on a Test Report Form (TRF), which you must pick up from the QAA IELTS Center, as the page names it. If someone else collects it for you, the page says they need the completed Authorization Form, your original ID from test day and their own original ID. It also says you receive one copy for yourself, and that when you register online you can add up to 5 recognising organisations to your application so that the centre sends copies of your TRF to them.
The registration hours above are the Academy's hours for registering. This page cannot say that they also apply to collecting a TRF, so ask the Academy when you can pick yours up and where to get the Authorization Form.
If you want a remark
The Academy's page says you may apply for an Enquiry on Results (EOR), the remark, within six weeks of the test date, by completing its EOR form and paying the fee. It says the release of remark results ranges from 2 to 21 days, depending on several factors including the number of components marked, and that you should contact your test centre if you have not received a response in 28 days. IDP Qatar's results page says remark results are available within 2 hours to 21 days and asks you to get in touch with your test centre or IELTS Partner if you have had no response after 21 days. The two sources differ on the follow-up point, so ask the Academy which one applies to your booking.
This page quotes no remark fee. A remark is a request to look at a result again, and nobody can promise it will change a score. For a different route, see One Skill Retake or a full retake.
Where online lessons with Mike fit
Mike holds the Cambridge CELTA, teaches from Hanoi, and scored 8.5 in Speaking in his own IELTS (about Mike). Every lesson is one-to-one and live on Google Meet in English, and there is no classroom or centre in Qatar. Because lessons are online, the venue you choose for the test does not change where you study.
A lesson is practice with a teacher, not an IELTS test. Speaking is run in the real three-part format with feedback during the session, and Writing Task 1 and Task 2 are marked against the public band descriptors; Task 2 counts twice as much as Task 1 in the Writing band. See IELTS Writing feedback.
Qatar is in the higher regional price tier, and the booking page shows your price in your own currency, with the payment options, before you pay. The booking calendar shows each slot in your own time zone. A paid 30-minute trial can be taken once, on your first booking, and you can reschedule at no charge up to 12 hours before a session. There is no subscription or package. No band is guaranteed: progress depends on your starting point and the work you do between sessions.
