The two centres in short
The official centre finder on ielts.org shows two venues for Warsaw. The list of tests is not the same at each.
| Centre | Address | Tests the listing shows |
|---|---|---|
| British Council Warsaw | ul. Koszykowa 54, 00-675 Warsaw | Academic, General Training, UKVI Academic and UKVI General Training (all four on computer), plus Life Skills A1 and B1 (delivery not specified on the listing) |
| Second centre (also on IDP's Poland site) | Aleje Jerozolimskie 133, 02-304 Warsaw | Academic and General Training on computer |
Both listings are read from official pages on the day this page was written. Providers change what they offer, so treat the table as a starting point, not a final answer.
British Council Warsaw
The ielts.org listing for British Council Warsaw shows computer delivery for the four IELTS tests it names; for the Life Skills tests it does not specify the delivery. It is the only Warsaw centre in that finder with IELTS for UKVI and IELTS Life Skills. The listing gives no opening hours, phone number or email, only a link to the British Council website, so use the provider's own booking pages for those details.
The second centre
The ielts.org listing gives the address and the two tests. IDP's own page for the same address adds more: regular opening hours of 9 AM to 5 PM, IELTS on computer, and One Skill Retake shown on the sessions it lists. That page also shows the available sessions and their price, which is where to look for both. This page does not repeat them because they change.
UKVI and Life Skills in Warsaw
These are the tests for UK visa and settlement routes, and they are separate from ordinary Academic and General Training. According to ielts.org, the UKVI only accepts tests taken in person at an official IELTS for UKVI test centre. Life Skills tests (A1, A2, B1) cover Listening and Speaking only, and the result is pass or fail. B2 needs the full IELTS for UKVI test instead.
If a visa is the reason you are looking, check which test your route names before booking anything. The rules by route are on the IELTS for UKVI in Poland page. This is general information from the official page, not personal advice.
How to choose between them
- A UK visa or settlement route: check which test your route names on the official UKVI guidance. If it is UKVI or Life Skills, only the British Council listing shows it in Warsaw on ielts.org.
- Study, work or general use: both centres list Academic and General Training on computer, so compare sessions, opening hours and travel time.
- Only one skill went wrong: One Skill Retake is shown on IDP's session list for the second centre. The ielts.org listing for British Council Warsaw does not mention it, so check the British Council's own pages. Check each provider's page for the current rules and which institutions accept it.
- Not Warsaw: see the centres across Poland.
Before you book
Compare available sessions on each provider's page, read the booking terms, and keep the identity document you will use on the day. The fee is shown at booking on the provider's page; see where to check fees and dates. Band Booster is not a test centre and does not register candidates or set fees.
How lessons with Mike can help
Mike teaches one-to-one, live on Google Meet, in English. He is CELTA-certified, based in Hanoi, with 12+ years teaching English and IELTS in Vietnam, Turkey and Iran, and his own IELTS result is 8.5 in Speaking. In a lesson he marks Writing Task 1 and Task 2 against the public band descriptors and runs Speaking Parts 1 to 3 in the real format, with feedback in the moment.
Lessons are for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, and for General English. They do not cover the Life Skills tests. Hanoi is 6 hours ahead of Warsaw in winter and 5 hours ahead in summer; the booking calendar shows each slot in your own time zone. You can book a lesson or read about Mike first.
