What the sources showed for Jeddah
Everything below was read on 24 October 2026. Venue lists and session lists change, so open the linked page before you plan a journey. This page quotes no exam fee and no test date, because IDP and the British Council set and change them.
| Source | What it showed for Jeddah | What it is useful for |
|---|---|---|
| ielts.org test centre finder, Saudi Arabia and Jeddah | 12 listings, each one a result card. By our own count they carry six different centre names, so some centres appear more than once. | One view of both providers' centres, with labels such as UKVI Approved, Computer and One Skill Retake |
| IDP, Saudi Arabia test dates | Four Jeddah venue addresses, set out in the next section, each marked One Skill Retake available. | Address detail as IDP gives it |
| IDP, Jeddah venue page | A page headed IDP IELTS Jeddah, with the Prince Sultan Road address and regular opening hours of Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 to 19:00. | The venue's opening hours, which are not test sessions |
| British Council, Saudi Arabia dates, fees and locations | A statement that you can choose to take IELTS on computer at its test centres in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, and a second statement that lists Jeddah among the centres where you may prefer to take IELTS on paper. | What the British Council says about format in the city |
| British Council, Saudi Arabia UK visas and immigration | A statement that it offers IELTS for UKVI in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al-Ahsa. | What the British Council says about IELTS for UKVI in the city |
Twelve listings are not twelve centres. By our own count the finder's 12 listings carry six different centre names (with 3, 3, 2, 2, 1 and 1 listings), so some centres appear more than once, and the listings for one centre can carry different labels: two of the three listings of the Palestine Street centre below are tagged UKVI Approved, but the third is not. Count centre names, not result cards. A listing is also not an open session: only the provider's booking page shows which dates you can book.
The Jeddah venues, by address
The table describes each venue by the hotel, university, street or district the source gives. The first six rows are the six centre names behind the finder's 12 listings; the last two appear in IDP's list only. It is not a complete or final list, and rows from different sources may describe the same place.
| Venue | Source | What the source showed |
|---|---|---|
| British Council centre at the Novotel Jeddah Tahlia, Al Andalus District, Muruat Al Islam Street | ielts.org finder | 3 listings, each tagged Computer and One Skill Retake. |
| British Council centre at the Ibis Hotel Malek Road, Al Zahra, King Abdul Aziz Road | ielts.org finder | 2 listings: one tagged Computer and One Skill Retake, the other tagged Computer (Writing on Paper). |
| British Council centre on Palestine Street, Al-Ruwais | ielts.org finder | 3 listings, all tagged Computer and One Skill Retake; two of them are also tagged UKVI Approved. |
| British Council centre at Effat University, An Nazlah Al Yamaniyyah, Gate 3 | ielts.org finder | 2 listings, both tagged UKVI Approved, Computer and One Skill Retake. |
| IDP venue on Prince Sultan Road, Al Khalidiyyah (Office No. 306, 3rd floor) | ielts.org finder; IDP's list and venue page | 1 finder listing, tagged UKVI Approved, Computer, Computer (Writing on Paper) and One Skill Retake. IDP's list marks it One Skill Retake available. |
| IDP venue on Prince Sultan Branch road, An Nahdah district (3rd floor) | IDP's list; ielts.org finder (same address) | 1 finder listing, tagged UKVI Approved, Computer and One Skill Retake. IDP's list marks it One Skill Retake available. |
| IDP venue at King Abdulaziz University, Idara Street | IDP's list | Marked One Skill Retake available. It was not among the finder's 12 Jeddah listings. |
| IDP venue on Muhammad Nour Jakhdar Street, Al-Safa district | IDP's list | Marked One Skill Retake available. It was not among the finder's 12 Jeddah listings. |
The addresses sit in different parts of the city: Al Khalidiyyah, An Nahdah, Al-Safa, Al-Ruwais, An Nazlah Al Yamaniyyah, Al Andalus District and Al Zahra, with two venues at universities and two at hotels. This page gives no distances or travel times, and it does not say that a candidate in Jeddah can sit at a given venue on a given date.
Read the address, not just the name
IDP's Saudi Arabia list gives four Jeddah addresses: Prince Sultan Road in Al Khalidiyyah (Office No. 306, 3rd floor), Prince Sultan Branch road in An Nahdah (3rd floor), King Abdulaziz University, and Muhammad Nour Jakhdar Street in Al-Safa. The finder's Jeddah results include the first two as separate entries, but none of its 12 listings was at King Abdulaziz University or in Al-Safa.
Two of these addresses carry the name Prince Sultan, so check the road and the district on your session: Prince Sultan Road in Al Khalidiyyah and Prince Sultan Branch road in An Nahdah are separate entries in both sources. Names differ between sources as well. The finder heads the Al Khalidiyyah entry IDP Education - Jeddah, while IDP's own venue page for the same address is headed IDP IELTS Jeddah.
A venue name that starts with a city is not proof that the venue is in it. IDP's list includes one venue whose name begins IDP Jeddah but whose address is in Taif; the page on IELTS test centres in Makkah and Taif covers that case.
Computer, paper and IELTS for UKVI in Jeddah
Computer. The British Council's Saudi Arabia page says you can choose to take IELTS on computer at its test centres in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. That sentence is about the British Council's own centres; it does not say which format a session at an IDP venue uses, so check the session itself.
Paper. The same British Council page also says you may prefer to take IELTS on paper at its centres in a list of cities that includes Jeddah, and the finder tags the IDP entry on Prince Sultan Road and one of the two Ibis Hotel Malek Road listings Computer (Writing on Paper). These pages do not say which format your date will use, so confirm it on the session you book. For how the providers describe computer and paper across Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf countries, see computer-delivered IELTS in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
IELTS for UKVI. The British Council's UK visas page says it offers IELTS for UKVI in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Al-Ahsa. In the finder, both Effat University listings, two of the three Palestine Street listings and the entries at the two Prince Sultan addresses are tagged UKVI Approved. Whether you need an IELTS for UKVI test is for the organisation or visa route asking for your result to say; this page gives no visa advice. See IELTS for UKVI in Saudi Arabia.
One Skill Retake. IDP's list marks all four of its Jeddah venues One Skill Retake available, and 11 of the finder's 12 Jeddah listings carry a One Skill Retake label; the exception is one of the two Ibis Hotel Malek Road listings. A label on one card is not a promise for every session, so ask the provider before you rely on it, and read One Skill Retake or a full retake for when it makes sense.
A checklist before you book a Jeddah session
General advice, not guidance from IDP, the British Council or ielts.org:
- Start from the provider you will book with. IDP and the British Council each show their own sessions, so choose the provider first, then a session, and note the venue and address the session names.
- Compare the address with the finder. Check the street and district as well as the name, because the same address can carry a different name in different sources. The address is what you travel to, so if it does not match what the finder shows, ask the provider before you travel.
- Treat opening hours as hours, not sessions. IDP's Jeddah venue page lists regular opening hours of Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 to 19:00. That says when the venue is open, not which test sessions it runs, so take the date and start time from the booking page.
- Check the labels on the session itself. UKVI Approved, Computer, Computer (Writing on Paper) and One Skill Retake can differ between the listings of one centre, so confirm the one you need on the session you book.
- Look for a Females only or Males only label. None of the 12 Jeddah finder listings, and none of the four Jeddah venues in IDP's list, carried one on 24 October 2026, and that does not say who may book or sit the test at a venue. Some other Saudi cities do carry such labels, and our page on women's and men's test centres in Saudi Arabia explains them. Read the label on the session you book.
Where online lessons with Mike fit
Band Booster IELTS is a private online tutoring service. It is not a test centre, it has no centre in Jeddah, it is independent of IDP, the British Council and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and it does not register you, hold a place, set test fees or dates, or issue results.
Every lesson is one-to-one on Google Meet in English with Mike, who holds the Cambridge CELTA, teaches from Hanoi and scored 8.5 in Speaking in his own IELTS (about Mike). A lesson covers Listening, Reading, Writing Task 1 and Task 2, marked against the public band descriptors, and Speaking Parts 1, 2 and 3 in the real test format, with feedback during the lesson. Because lessons are online, the venue you choose for the test does not change where you study, and the booking calendar shows each slot in your own time zone. For the time difference between Jeddah and Hanoi and how booking works from Jeddah, see online IELTS tutoring for Jeddah.
Saudi Arabia is in a higher regional price tier than Vietnam, and the booking page shows your price in your own currency before you pay. A paid 30-minute trial can be taken once, on your first booking, and you can reschedule at no charge up to 12 hours before a session. No band is guaranteed: progress depends on your starting point and the work you do between sessions.
