What this page reads, and what it does not
This page reads IDP Taiwan's own pages as they stood on 24 October 2026: its computer IELTS page, its test-day page, the session cards on its booking pages, its FAQ collection, and its pages on requesting a remark, requesting additional Test Report Forms and the One Skill Retake. It applies to bookings made with IDP Taiwan. British Council Taiwan's results rules were not read for this page, so if you tested there, use that provider's own site.
Band Booster IELTS is a private tutoring service. It is not IDP and not a test centre, it cannot release, post, re-mark or copy your result, and it sets no exam fees. IDP Taiwan's remark and extra-copy pages state fees in New Taiwan dollars; this page quotes no exam fee amount, so read the figure on IDP's page before you apply. It does not tell you whether to request a remark or a copy, only what IDP says.
Check your own booking and the live pages. IDP Taiwan's pages do not all agree on timings. The FAQ that covers collecting the paper report carries a publication date of 8 October 2021 and a modification date in 2026, so parts of it may date from the paper era. Confirm the details on your booking, in your IDP account and on test day.
When do IELTS results appear in Taiwan?
IDP Taiwan's pages do not give one answer. Three places on its site give three different timings for a computer test, and all of them sit inside 1 to 5 days.
| Where on IDP Taiwan's site | What it says about computer results |
|---|---|
| Computer IELTS page | Results are published 1 to 3 working days after the test. |
| Session cards on the booking pages | "Results in 1 to 5 days". |
| Test-day page | A range narrower than 1 to 5 days that also ends at day 5, given as when results can be viewed online. |
Read these as typical timings, not promises. This page cannot tell you which day your own result will appear, and one page counts working days while another counts plain days, so the figures do not line up exactly. Check the information for your own booking, and leave a margin before any application deadline.
Once results are released, IDP Taiwan's FAQ says you can log in to check your result after 5 pm on the release date. That sentence gives the time as 5 pm and does not name a time zone; if you are checking from another country, confirm which clock applies. For how the computer test itself is described, see computer-delivered IELTS in Taiwan.
Reading the numbers on your result
An IELTS result gives a band score from 0 to 9, in half-band steps, for each of Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, plus an overall band. The overall band is the average of the four skills rounded to the nearest half band: a remainder of .25 rounds up to the next half band, and .75 rounds up to the next whole band. The band score calculator shows the arithmetic. Which band an institution asks for is a separate question that only that institution can answer; see IELTS scores for study abroad.
Your Test Report Form: the electronic copy and the paper original
The Test Report Form (TRF) is the document that carries your result. IDP Taiwan's FAQ says you can sign in to the account you used to book, view the electronic TRF once your result has been released, and download it. It adds that the test centre also provides one paper original.
For the paper original, the FAQ describes two routes.
| Route | What IDP Taiwan's FAQ says |
|---|---|
| Post | Sent out by registered mail within 1 to 3 days after the results are released. That line is about when it is posted, not when it arrives. The address needs someone to sign for it. |
| Collect in person | For a computer test, from noon on day 5 after the test, at the IDP Taipei, Taichung or Kaohsiung office. Bring your original passport. The hours given are Monday to Friday, 10:00 to 17:00. |
Those three offices are the only ones the FAQ names for collection.
The envelope on test day
The FAQ says the choice between posting and collecting is made on an envelope handed out on test day: you write the address for posting or choose to collect in person. Once you choose posting, it cannot be changed afterwards.
Questions to settle before you write on the envelope
- Will someone be at the address to sign for a registered letter?
- Can you reach the Taipei, Taichung or Kaohsiung office on a weekday between 10:00 and 17:00, with your original passport?
- Does the institution that will read your result accept an electronic TRF? Only that institution can say; the extra-copies section below shows where this matters.
- Have the collection day or the opening hours changed? The FAQ may lag the live procedure, so ask the staff at the centre on test day.
Enquiry on Results (a remark): the limits IDP Taiwan sets
An Enquiry on Results is a request for your result to be re-marked. IDP Taiwan's remark page sets out three limits that matter for planning.
- Six weeks. You can request it within six weeks of the test date printed on your TRF.
- 1 to 21 days. Re-marking at head office takes 1 to 21 days, depending on holidays and the number of applications.
- The result is on hold. While a remark is pending, the result cannot be used for school or job applications.
The third limit is the one to set against a deadline. If an application closes soon, the pending period counts, and 1 to 21 days is a range, not a promise. This page does not say whether a remark is worth requesting; that depends on your result, your deadline and what IDP's page says when you read it.
A remark and a One Skill Retake together
IDP Taiwan's One Skill Retake page says you can request both at the same time. The remark must be requested within six weeks of the original test date, and the retake must be taken within 60 days of it. The retake means sitting one of the four skills again; for how it compares with a full retake, read IELTS One Skill Retake or a full retake.
Extra copies of your result for universities and other institutions
How you send an extra copy depends on when you sat the test, according to IDP Taiwan's additional TRF page.
| Your situation | What IDP Taiwan says |
|---|---|
| Computer test taken after 14 December 2023, and the institution accepts an electronic TRF | No separate application is needed. Log in to your computer-test account and send the result to the institution online with "Notify Institution". No passport copy is needed. |
| Other candidates | Use IDP's online form, with a copy of your TRF and a scan of your passport. |
Two things this page cannot tell you: whether the institution you are applying to accepts electronic reports (ask it), and the fees stated on IDP's extra-copy page (read them there). Most institutions treat IELTS scores as valid for two years, but each sets its own policy, so check the one you are applying to.
The sequence after the test, in order
This is a general summary of the limits above, not guidance from IDP. Put your own dates next to it.
- Result day. Find the release date for your booking and check online after 5 pm on that day.
- Day 5 onwards. If you chose collection, this is when IDP's FAQ says a computer-test candidate can start collecting the paper original. If you chose posting, it is sent out within 1 to 3 days after release.
- Six weeks from the test date. This is the limit for requesting a remark, and the result is on hold while the remark is pending. A retake, if you also want one, must be taken within 60 days of the original test.
- Before an application deadline. Send copies early, because IDP's timings are typical, not promised.
What Band Booster IELTS does, and what it does not
Band Booster IELTS is a private tutoring service, not IDP and not a test centre. It does not register students, hold or post a Test Report Form, request a remark or send copies to institutions. Mike is a Cambridge CELTA-certified teacher based in Hanoi who teaches every lesson himself, one-to-one and live on Google Meet, in English rather than Chinese. His own IELTS Speaking score is 8.5 (about Mike).
If you are waiting for a result or planning a retake, lessons can practise the skills. Speaking is practised in Parts 1, 2 and 3 in the real test format, with feedback in the moment (IELTS Speaking coaching). For Writing, you bring a Task 1 or Task 2 answer and Mike marks it against the public band descriptors, with feedback during the lesson (IELTS Writing feedback). Those two pages quote Vietnam prices. No band is promised: progress depends on your starting point and the work between sessions.
Taiwan (UTC+8) is one hour ahead of Hanoi (UTC+7) all year. In the IANA time zone database neither has a current daylight-saving rule, so 20:00 in Taipei is 19:00 in Hanoi. The booking page shows each slot in your own time zone, and your lesson price in your own currency before you pay. A paid 30-minute trial can be taken once, on your first booking. The booking page is currently available in Simplified Chinese, not Traditional, so it may open in Simplified Chinese; its language menu offers English.
