IDP and British Council both list IELTS venues in the northern emirates, but their lists do not match. This page gives the addresses as the lists show them and says where they differ, so you know what to check before you book. Lessons with Mike are separate: he teaches one-to-one on Google Meet, in English.

The short answer

If you live in Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, you can find listed IELTS venues in all three emirates, but the two providers describe them differently. The ielts.org test centre list for the UAE shows venues run by British Council and by IDP. IDP's own UAE test-dates page shows fewer, and none in Fujairah city.

We read both pages on 1 November 2026. Venue finders change, so use the links here and check the current list. This page does not say any list is complete, and it states no exam fee or test date.

Which venue you can sit at depends on the provider you book with. A venue on one provider's list is not automatically open to a booking made with the other.

Ajman

ielts.org lists three Ajman venues, each tagged for computer-delivered IELTS and One Skill Retake:

  • British Council: Falcon Tower, Al Rashidiya 2, Flat 1807, Wing B-1.
  • British Council: Corniche Road, Al Owais Tower, third floor.
  • IDP IELTS Dubai: first floor, Masfout Plaza, Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamid Road, Liwara 1.

IDP's test-dates page lists the Masfout Plaza address too, plus two more: University Street, Al Jerf 1, and A & F Tower on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Street. It does not give a format for each venue, so ask which format applies when you choose a date. IDP's Ajman page says paper and computer dates are available throughout the month at the venues it names, which include Ajman University and Gulf Medical University, but it showed no sessions when we looked.

Ras Al Khaimah

IDP lists two venues: one at Al Sabkha Street in Dafan, tagged One Skill Retake available, and one at Al Juwais, Al Qusaidat, near RAK Hospital. ielts.org shows the same Dafan address too, tagged Computer and One Skill Retake, but under an entry that is not named IDP, so check with the provider which one you would be booking with. It also lists two British Council venues: one with the address P.O. Box 10021, and one on a campus at Seih Al Araibi. Both are tagged Computer and One Skill Retake.

If you need the test for a UK visa route, ask the provider whether the venue and the product you want are UKVI-approved; the venue lists on this page do not settle that. Read our page on IELTS for UKVI in the UAE, then confirm the exact product with the provider.

Fujairah

ielts.org lists four Fujairah entries:

  • British Council: National Bank of Umm Al Quwain Building, M-2, Office 204, near Al Jaber Tower.
  • British Council: a university in Fujairah, with no street address given.
  • British Council: a campus on Shk. Khalifa Bin Zayed Road, Hulaifat.
  • IDP IELTS Dubai: Al Rashidiya, Dibba.

IDP's test-dates page, by contrast, lists no venue in Fujairah city. IDP's Fujairah page says the Fujairah centre is ideal for students from Khor Fakkan (20 minutes away) and Dibba (45 minutes away), and that most sessions are held on Saturdays and Sundays, but that page itself lists no Fujairah test centre and gives no address. Because the two IDP pages do not agree with each other, treat any Fujairah city venue as something to confirm with the provider before you plan travel.

Umm Al Quwain, Khor Fakkan and Dibba

Where you liveWhat the provider pages say
Umm Al QuwainIDP calls Ajman the primary choice, a 15 to 20 minute drive. ielts.org also lists one British Council venue in Umm Al Quwain, on Shk. Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum Street.
Khor FakkanIDP's test-dates page lists no venue there. Its Fujairah page says Khor Fakkan is about 20 minutes from the Fujairah centre.
DibbaIDP's test-dates page lists three entries under Dibba. One is at Al Rashidiya, Dibba, in Al Fujairah, tagged One Skill Retake available; the other two are Al Hisn entries, one with an address line that says Sharjah and one that says Sharjah/Fujairah, so confirm the location with IDP before travelling. Its Fujairah page gives about 45 minutes from Dibba to Fujairah.

What to check before you book

  1. Which provider the venue belongs to, and whether you are booking with that provider.
  2. The test format at that venue: computer or paper. The lists tag venues differently.
  3. Whether you need One Skill Retake or a UKVI version, and that the provider offers it at that venue.
  4. The exact address. Several entries give an area, not a street.
  5. Your identity document. See which ID to bring in the UAE.

Band Booster IELTS is not a test centre. We do not register candidates or set test fees or dates. You book with IDP or British Council, and their pages are the reference. How lessons with Mike can help with this

Choosing a venue is only part of the preparation. Mike is a CELTA-certified teacher based in Hanoi, with 8.5 in Speaking in his own IELTS result and 12+ years teaching English and IELTS in Vietnam, Turkey and Iran. He teaches every session himself, one-to-one, live on Google Meet, in English. He marks Writing Task 1 and Task 2 against the public band descriptors and runs Speaking Parts 1 to 3 in the real format, with feedback in the moment.

You can join from wherever you have a stable connection, and the booking calendar shows each slot in your own time zone. The UAE is three hours behind Hanoi. You can book a lesson or read about Mike first. The booking page shows the exact price before payment.

Common questions

Can I take IELTS in Ajman?

Yes, both providers list Ajman venues. ielts.org shows two British Council venues and one IDP venue, and IDP's test-dates page lists three Ajman addresses. Choose by the provider you book with, and confirm the format with that provider.

Is there an IELTS test centre in Fujairah?

ielts.org lists three British Council entries in Fujairah, plus one IDP entry in Dibba, in the same emirate. IDP's own test-dates page lists none in Fujairah city, so check the provider page before travelling.

Where do Umm Al Quwain candidates sit IELTS?

IDP says Ajman is the primary choice for Umm Al Quwain students, a 15 to 20 minute drive. ielts.org also lists a British Council venue in Umm Al Quwain. Confirm which applies to your booking.

Are these venues computer or paper?

ielts.org tags the venues it lists in this area as computer-delivered, but venue lists are not a guarantee for a given date. IDP's pages mention both paper and computer but do not state a format for each venue. Ask the provider before you pay.

Can Band Booster book my test or set a venue for me?

No. We are an online tutoring service, not a test centre. You book with IDP or British Council, who set the fees, dates and venues.

Do I need to travel for lessons with Mike?

No. Lessons are one-to-one, live on Google Meet, in English. You join from wherever you have a stable connection, and the calendar shows slots in your own time zone.

Is the list on this page complete?

No claim of completeness is made. It reflects the provider pages read on 1 November 2026. Open the linked finders for the current list.
