I read the AUBH undergraduate admissions page on 1 November 2026. Admission pages change, so open the page itself before you apply. This page is general information, not admission advice.
What the page says about English
On its undergraduate admissions page, AUBH lists the same English line under the College of Business & Management, the College of Media & Design and the College of Engineering & Computing. In the page's words, it asks for English language proficiency such as IELTS (academic) with a score of 6.0, or an equivalent such as TOEFL (69), Duolingo (105) or Linguaskill (169).
| Test | Figure on the page |
|---|---|
| IELTS Academic | 6.0 |
| TOEFL | 69 |
| Duolingo | 105 |
| Linguaskill | 169 |
Two details are worth noting. The page says IELTS (academic), so the Academic module is the one named; if you are unsure which module you need, read IELTS Academic or General Training. And the figure is written as a single score of 6.0. In the text I read, the page did not say whether each band must reach a certain level, how long a result stays valid, or whether any exemption or placement test exists. Do not assume any of these: ask the Admissions Office.
Where the English result sits in the application
Under "Prepare Required Materials", the page lists the English result as a required item, written as IELTS (academic) or TOEFL. That list names fewer tests than the admission criteria, which also mention Duolingo and Linguaskill. If you plan to submit Duolingo or Linguaskill, confirm with AUBH that it is accepted before you upload your documents.
The same section asks for original documents, or proof of pending results, including:
- National ID and a passport copy
- Statement of graduation or high school diploma
- High school transcripts (the page describes the semesters or grades it expects for government and private schools)
- A high-resolution passport-size photograph, as a soft copy
- An equivalency letter from the Ministry of Education, and, for a diploma obtained outside Bahrain, an attestation note (embassy or ministry of foreign affairs stamps); read the page for who needs these
Other points on the same page
- Interview. Passing the AUBH personal interview is listed as a criterion, marked "if applicable".
- School results. The page asks for an overall GPA of 2.3 (75%) or equivalent, and gives separate lines for IB and British-system applicants. It also has lines for other school systems, such as Indian boards and online schooling, and the Engineering college lists subject requirements, so read the section for your own school and college. If you follow A-level, IB or another international curriculum, it asks you to contact the Admissions Office.
- Transfer students. The page lists a minimum CGPA of 2.3 (75%), the same documents as first-year applicants, and says no more than half of the credits for an AUBH degree may be transfer credit. It lists further transfer requirements, so read that section in full.
- Deadlines. The page showed a last day to apply for Fall 2026 in September 2026, which has passed. Look for the current deadline on the page.
How this fits with other Bahrain pages
For a side-by-side view of several institutions, see IELTS scores asked by Bahrain universities. Medicine applicants can read RCSI Bahrain.
Before you book the test
IELTS is run by its test providers, not by AUBH or by us. For booking, identity documents and test day in Bahrain, read Booking IELTS in Bahrain, and check the provider pages linked there. If a university asks for a result you already hold, results, re-mark and One Skill Retake explains the options. The IELTS exam fee and dates are on the provider's page, not here.
How lessons with Mike can help with this
A university score is a target your own result has to reach, and no tutor can promise it. What lessons can do is make your preparation specific. Mike marks Writing Task 1 and Task 2 against the public band descriptors, runs Speaking Parts 1 to 3 in the real format with feedback in the moment, and leaves written progress notes in your account. Lessons are one-to-one, live on Google Meet, in English. Bahrain is four hours behind Hanoi, and the booking calendar shows each slot in your own time zone. You can read more about Mike or go straight to the booking page, where your price appears in your own currency before you pay. A paid 30-minute trial is available once, on a first booking.
