How lessons with Mike work for readers in Ireland
These are private lessons for one student. Mike teaches every session, so you work with the same teacher each time. He holds the Cambridge CELTA (July 2017), has taught English and IELTS for more than twelve years in Vietnam, Turkey and Iran, and scored 8.5 in Speaking in his own IELTS. About Mike has more detail.
Lessons are live on Google Meet, in English. Each one lasts 60 minutes and can cover Listening, Reading, Writing (Task 1 and Task 2) or Speaking (Parts 1 to 3), on their own or mixed. There is no fixed course, no subscription and no package: you book sessions as you need them.
| Term | What applies |
|---|---|
| Lesson | 60 minutes, one-to-one, live on Google Meet, in English |
| Trial | A paid 30-minute trial, once per student, on the first booking |
| Rescheduling | At no charge up to 12 hours before the slot |
| Payment | PayPal (cards through PayPal) or USDT; PayPal charges the US-dollar equivalent |
| After payment | The Google Meet link and calendar invite arrive by email |
The time difference between Ireland and Hanoi
Hanoi is on UTC+7 all year and does not change its clocks. Ireland uses winter time (GMT) and summer time, one hour ahead, and changes its clocks twice a year. So Hanoi is 7 hours ahead of Ireland in winter and 6 hours ahead in summer.
- In winter, 19:00 in Hanoi is 12:00 in Ireland.
- In summer, 19:00 in Hanoi is 13:00 in Ireland.
You do not need to convert anything. The calendar on the booking page shows every slot in your own time zone, and it also adjusts when the clocks change. Which slots are open depends on Mike's calendar, and no particular hours are promised, so check it first if you can study only at fixed times.
Booking and paying
- Open the booking page and pick a slot in your own time.
- See your price, then pay with PayPal or USDT. PayPal charges the US-dollar equivalent and states the exact amount at checkout.
- The Google Meet link and calendar invite arrive by email right after payment.
- Join the lesson at the time shown on your invite.
The price for Ireland is shown on the booking page before you pay. If the student is under 18, a parent or guardian first agrees to a short consent letter before the booking is made.
Booking the IELTS test in Ireland
Band Booster is not a test centre and does not register candidates or set test fees. The test is booked with a provider. This section was read on the providers' pages in October 2026, so confirm it before you book.
- IDP IELTS Ireland lists one centre in Dublin and lets you choose a date and start booking online, with a clear scan or photo of your passport uploaded.
- The ielts.org centre list for Ireland shows more venues, in Dublin, Galway and Cork, most of them on the British Council route, and one tagged UKVI Approved. It says to check availability with the centre.
Dates and fees are set by the provider, so look at the current figures on their pages. Our guide to test centres in Ireland, dates and fees page and booking and ID page go into each step.
The format of the test
ielts.org says that from mid-2026 IELTS is no longer offered on paper, with timelines varying by market. IDP's Irish page on IELTS on computer says Listening, Reading and Writing are on a computer and Speaking is a face-to-face interview with an examiner. Confirm the format on your booking. More is on the page about IELTS on computer in Ireland.
Academic or General Training
Per ielts.org, Academic suits study and can be used for professional registration, while General Training suits migration and everyday English. Check which one your university, employer or registration body asks for. Our comparison explains the difference, and Irish university scores shows what some universities ask.
If you are weighing a tutor against a course
A class in Dublin or elsewhere gives you a timetable and classmates. A one-to-one lesson is shaped around a single student, but it depends on open slots in Mike's calendar. Neither format can promise a band. The guide on how to choose an online IELTS tutor lists questions that apply to any tutor.

How lessons with Mike can help with this
Mike marks Writing Task 1 and Task 2 against the public band descriptors. He runs Speaking Parts 1 to 3 in the real format, with feedback in the moment, and leaves written progress notes in your account. See Speaking and Writing in detail, then book a lesson. No band, result or timeline is promised.
